Although the American Kennel Club does not recognize the designations between Toy, Tiny Toy, and Teacup for show purposes, these little dogs have been bred and are widely accepted by the public as pets and companion dogs. The designation between Toy Poodles, Tiny Toy Poodles, and Teacup Poodles is based upon the size and weight dimensions of the dog. The following general classifications will help you.

Toy: 10" or Less at the Shoulders (Breed Standard)
Tiny Toy- Pocket Toy: 4-4.75 lbs..
Teacup: 3 lbs or Less.  (These only weigh 1lb. at 3 months old.)
Miniature: 15" or Less at the Shoulders (Breed Standard)
Mini-Toy: 12"-13" at the Shoulders (Midway between Toy and Mini)
